Pyrenees Food & Wine Race Day

Celebrate ANZAC Day with a favourite Aussie tradition – a day of country racing! Kick back and relax with family and friends while enjoying a range of local food, Pyrenees wine stalls, live music, kids activities and a variety of traditional ANZAC Day activities including 2UP.

Make a long weekend of it and pitch your tent or park your caravan at the racecourse and spend a few nights under the stars ready to explore the endless delights of the Pyrenees region the following days.

Hospitality Packages

Entertaining in a marquee or enjoying an all inclusive dining package is the ideal, hassle free way to spend your day at the races.

Not only do our hospitality packages provide a fantastic atmosphere and central meeting place, but they also offer a private area away from the crowds; protection from the sun; somewhere to place your belongings and a reference point for friends to drop by and say hi.

Marquee holders celebrating a special occasion can purchase a full page racebook ad for $150 or ½ page for $75 (exc GST) in the ANZAC Day racebook.

A Night Under the Stars

Make the most of your long weekend by enjoying the entire Pyrenees Festival of Racing & Tasting with all activities at your door step. Caravanning and camping is available on-course. Reserve your unpowered camp/caravan package prior to the race day for just $10* per campsite per day. Shower & toilet facilities available. Wood for camp fires provided.

The Avoca Shire Turf Club recommend the Avoca Caravan Park for your stay. Onsite vans, caravans, powered & non powered campsites available. Call (03) 5465 3073 to book

Adults $15, Concession $10 (pension & student card holders), Children under 16 FREE (when accompanied by a parent or guardian)

From Melbourne

Rail to Ballarat – phone VLine 13 61 96 (then coach from Ballarat, see below). Otherwise Melbourne travellers can stay within the Pyrenees region, Maryborough, Ballarat or for a bit of fun, hire a limo for the day.

By Car

Avoca is situated 40 mins past Ballarat on the Sunraysia Hwy. Once in Avoca turn left at Shell service station, follow road for approx 3 km, then make right hand turn (is signposted), follow road until racecourse turn off.
